ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Melvin Michael MHA is a healthcare innovator, Administrator, Senior Consultant, author, and visionary systems designer dedicated to transforming how underserved and immigrant communities access care, resources, and wellness. Born and raised in a small Kenyan town and now a proud dual citizen living in the United States, she bridges two worlds with clarity, compassion, and purpose.
Her work sits at the intersection of regulatory expertise, culturally grounded wellness, and healthcare innovation. Through GrowthNest MEL Strategies, she guides individuals, facilities, and organizations with the tools, knowledge, and systems they need to thrive. Her consulting spans Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) All Levels, Residential Facility Care for Elderly (RFCE), offering all services, Assisted Living Facility(ALM), as well as Group home licensing, compliance, resource mapping, and the development of branded Program designs, policies and procedures, onboarding /admission intake forms, materials and so much more that make complex processes accessible for healthcare startups.
She also collaborates with current facility owners, the team provides continuous quarterly regulatory audits, helps with facility bookkeeping, citations, and plan of corrections as needed, with deficiencies where necessary, last but not list she also prepares state mandatory surveys and sets the Administrator ready all year round esspecially for impromptu state visits.
As the inventor of AfyaHub EMR, a Kenya-friendly, regionally sharded electronic medical record platform, Melvin is building the future of interoperable care across East and Central Africa.
